A Thoughtful Expression of Gratitude
Crafted by CEDAR Y SAND in our East Hampton studio, the Thanks Notecard transforms a simple sentiment into a tactile expression of appreciation. Each card begins with traditional Japanese Suminagashi, the art of floating ink upon water to create delicate, fluid patterns that are transferred onto paper. No two marbled impressions are ever quite alike.
The word THANKS is carefully cut from the marbled front, revealing a soft, natural-colored paper liner beneath. This interplay of pattern, typography, and negative space creates a dimensional design that is both playful and understated. The Suminagashi pattern continues onto the reverse, making every angle of the card a small work of art.
Beautifully Crafted, Naturally Distinctive
Made with premium Fabriano Medioevalis paper, celebrated for its luxurious texture, substantial feel, and naturally deckled edges, each 4.5" H × 6.75" W notecard offers an elevated writing experience. The softly textured, natural-toned paper complements the flowing marbled patterns, while the blank interior liner provides ample space for a personal handwritten message.
Available in four subtle colorways—Oat, Smoke, Blush, and Mist—each card carries its own distinctive marbling, from warm earthy neutrals and delicate blush tones to cool grays and airy blue hues.
Thoughtfully finished with an embossed CEDAR Y SAND insignia on the reverse and accompanied by a coordinating envelope bearing our embossed seal, each notecard is a small celebration of craftsmanship, designed to make even the simplest thank-you feel special.
Part of the Suminagashi Springs collection, each notecard is individually hand-marbled and crafted in East Hampton, New York. Natural variations in pattern ensure that no two are exactly alike.

FAQ
FAQ
Q: What makes the THANKS lettering different from a printed design?
A: Rather than being printed onto the surface, each letter is cut directly through the hand-marbled paper, allowing the natural-colored liner beneath to become part of the design. This creates subtle depth and shadow, giving the simple sentiment a distinctive, dimensional quality.
