Suminagashi Springs by CEDAR Y SAND is our signature collection, rooted in the ancient Japanese marbling art of Suminagashi—“floating ink.” Traditionally, this meditative process is formed by dipping the tip of an inked brush onto the surface of water, where the pigment ripples outward in concentric circles before being lifted onto paper, preserving the natural drift of water in fluid, organic patterns.

At CEDAR Y SAND, we carry this timeless art into new forms both artistic and functional. Beyond stationery staples—hand-marbled notecards, bookmarks, notepads, and wrapped pencils—our marbled paper becomes a stage for layered creativity: pressed seaweed gathered from Long Island shores, marine fauna watercolors reimagined on collaged mats, and lighthouse silhouettes set against flowing skies.
