Calm in Bloom
Crafted by CEDAR Y SAND in our East Hampton studio, Slate Bloom Lavender reflects the stillness of twilight fields. Each card begins with hand-marbled Suminagashi Hosho paper—an ancient Japanese process where ink floats on water, forming delicate wave-like veining. Onto this marbled surface, real lavender stems are pressed by hand, each one slightly different in tone and shape, preserving nature’s quiet rhythm.
A Palette of Cool Serenity
Part of the Suminagashi Springs collection, Slate Bloom captures layered shades of slate, soft violet, and gray-blue—tones that echo coastal dusk and the calm of evening air. Each notecard is one-of-a-kind, blending ink, water, and flora in subtle harmony.

FAQ
FAQ
Q: What is Suminagashi?
A: Suminagashi is an ancient Japanese marbling technique where ink is gently floated on water and transferred to paper, forming delicate, organic veining patterns that resemble drifting tides. Each print is unique, capturing the quiet movement of ink and water.
Q: Are the flowers real?
A: Yes. Each notecard features genuine, hand-pressed florals carefully preserved and arranged on marbled Hosho paper, highlighting the intersection of nature and traditional craft.
