Palm Beneath Ocean Clouds
Collected along the quiet shores of Gerard Point in Springs, East Hampton, this composition from our Pressed by the Sea series captures the poetic calm of the coastline in sea-green form. A lush marine specimen fans outward like a palm tree, grounded below two drifting, curled seaweed fronds—reminiscent of weightless clouds rolling across the ocean sky.
Coastal Stillness with a Tropical Pulse
Though plucked from North Atlantic shallows, this arrangement evokes the soft drama of a tropical horizon. The marbled suminagashi paper beneath—handmade in celadon tones—mimics the swirling movement of tidepools and coastal breezes, offering a layered depth to the natural forms above.

FAQ
FAQ
Q: Is the seaweed real?
A: Yes! Each piece in our Pressed by the Sea series features actual marine flora hand-collected from local shorelines around East Hampton, NY. No reproductions, no prints—just the real textures of the tides, preserved by hand.
Q: What is suminagashi paper?
A: Suminagashi means “floating ink,” a Japanese marbling technique that dates back centuries. We create each background by gently floating ink on water, then transferring it to paper. The resulting patterns mimic the motion of tides—making each backdrop completely one of a kind.
