A Holiday Keepsake, Crafted by Hand

Made in our East Hampton studio, this curated set of three Suminagashi paper baubles brings a soft winter shimmer to holiday decorating. Each ornament is individually marbled by hand using the ancient Japanese technique Suminagashi—“floating ink”—where delicate pearlized waves form organically on the surface of water before being transferred to paper. No two baubles ever share the same pattern.

After marbling, each ornament is cut into ribboned strips, shaped into a sculptural sphere, and finished with wire, natural cotton twine, and small wooden beads. Light catches the surface in subtle, tide-inspired glints—soft enough for minimalist winter décor, special enough for gifting.
